Built for a different room
Otter's feature set makes complete sense for its actual users. Speaker separation matters when six people talk over each other; calendar integration matters when your day is meetings; live captions matter when you need to follow along in real time. A lecture is one person talking for fifty minutes about material you will be examined on, with slides. Almost none of Otter's hardest engineering is aimed at that, and none of it addresses what you do with the transcript afterwards.
